Mrs. Eliza Jane Thacker, 90, widow of Newton O. Thacker and a lifelong resident of the Spring Creek community died Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. W. D. Layman near Dayton, who had caring for her for her the past 2½ years.

Mrs. Thacker had enjoyed extra good health for her advanced age until in Oct. 1957. She was admitted to the hospital for a month and then went to the home of Mrs. Layman.

A daughter of Dabney and Dorothy Funk Adams she was born near Spring Creek on Aug, 8, 1869. She lived her entire life in community of her birth.

Her husband. Newton O. Thacker, died in 1945.

Surviving are four sons: Norman R. Thacker, Spring Creek, Hilbert D, Thacker, Harrisonburg, Russell J. Thacker, Woodstock, and Guy N. Thacker, Dayton. Ten grandchildren survive.

Mrs. Thacker was a lifelong member of the Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren and was a very active attendant.

Funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 from the Beaver Creek Church. Due to the absence of her pastor, the services will be in charge of Dr. M. R. Wolfe. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

The body is at the W. L. Rosenberger Funeral Home in Bridgewater where it will remain until 1:15 when it will be taken to the church.

Relatives are asked to meet at the funeral home Saturday at 2 p.m.
