Cora Mace Benage, a daughter of Thomas and Jalie Ann (Tate) Mace, was born on March 29th, 1879 in the State of Illinois and passed away Sunday, August 19th, 1979 at the home of her daughter at Iberia. At the time of her death she was 100 years, 4 months and 20 days of age. On June 5th, 1898 she was united in marriage to Ernest E. Benage who preceded her in death on September 24, 1949. Mrs. Benage was a member of the Iberia First Baptist Church and had lived at Iberia for over 98 years.

Those surviving include: One son, Norman Benage of Iberia. One daughter, Mrs. Barbara Ann Cothran of Iberia. One sister, Mrs. Ollie Musick of Seattle, Washington. Also surviving are 2 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
