GG-Grandfather, Hardy, was a son of Jonathan and Elizabeth (Bolton) Box. He married Abbey Hulsey on July 31, 1838 in Paulding Co., GA and he and his family traveled with his father, mother and other siblings, and arrived in Butler Co., MO to establish roots. He and Abbey had 3 sons: Reuben, William and Dennis and possibly 1 daughter Sarah.

After Abbey's death (unknown date and location), Hardy married Hester Ann King on February 20, 1848 in Butler Co., MO. They had 10 children: Simeon, Nancy Ann Box Ferguson, Jonathan Shields, Elizabeth Rachel Box Boyer, Lydia A, Henry W (or M), Tabitha E., my G-Grandfather Maston Wiley "Matthew", Andrew Jackson, and James Marion.

From records I obtained from the Butler County, MO courthouse, Hardy Box had a will drawn up and signed on December 18, 1875. Less than a month later, on January 11, 1876, he was deceased and his estate was probated by his widow, Hester A. Box, also in Butler County, MO.

I was able to visit the Paulding County Courthouse in Dallas, GA and obtain some copies of marriage licenses for Hardy and his siblings. It's great to be living so close to where Hardy and his family lived over 175 years ago.
