Wanda Rae (Lewis) Sidlo, 80 passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Society, Hastings-Village. Wanda was born October 26, 1931 to Marshall Ray and Rebecca Louise (McCain) Lewis at the Lewis homestead in Webster County, NE.

Wanda attended Cloverton and Blue Hill schools and graduated from Red Cloud High School in 1949. Wanda then attended The University of Nebraska at Kearney, NE. She worked at the theater in Red Cloud where she met Albert Sidlo. They were married May 19, 1951 in Sidney, Iowa. Albert passed away October 2, 2006. They raised three sons in Hastings, NE. Wanda taught rural schools in Webster, Washington, Dawson and Clay counties for 18 years, after retiring she worked for Hastings Utilities for 18 years.

Wanda was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hastings, NE for over 50 years.

Wanda enjoyed reading, traveling, enjoying the outdoors with her family and spending time with her grandchildren.

Left to mourn her passing are: sons, Mike and wife Cyndie Sidlo of Hastings, Randy and wife Alicia Sidlo of Littleton, CO and Kirby and wife Angela Sidle of Astoria, OR; grandchildren, Andrew Sidlo, Matthew Sidlo, Jennifer Westfall, Lisa Adams, Corey Sidlo, and Toby Sidlo, and ten great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Wanda was preceded in death by: parents, husband, Albert Sidlo, three brothers, three sisters, two infant grand-daughters, two nieces and one nephew.

Wanda will be missed by all those who knew her.

Burial was in the Cloverton Cemetery, in Webster County, NE.
