Pearl was the third of four children born to Eli A. and Cornelia A. (Beene) Gentry. She married George Washington Williams and they were the parents of nine children: Gertrude D., Bertha C., Willie Blanche, Stella Lois, Elmer Lee, Juanita A., Mozelle, Hosea G. and Vernie Dwain.
