Mrs. Velma McCall Taylor, age 91, of Buford, GA passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2009. She was preceded in death by: husband, Henry Mitchell Taylor, Sr., whom she married on August 8, 1936.; parents, John and Alice McCall; brothers, Milton McCall, James Edward McCall, John McCall, Jr. and Tommy C. McCall; and sister, Reba Burton. She is survived by: daughter and son-in-law, Betty S. and Harold Bagwell, Buford, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Henry and Joyce Taylor, Buford, GA and Ret. Capt. Policeman William and Harriett Taylor, Gainesville, GA; grandchildren, Connie and Derwin Fancher, Lawrenceville, GA, Lt., with Hall County Sheriff's Dept., Mitchell Taylor and fiancée, Patti Abernathy, Gainesville, GA, Michael Taylor, Buford, GA, Michele Taylor, Gainesville, GA, and Mollye Taylor, Gainesville, GA; two great grandchildren, Erica Fancher and Bailey Fancher; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Shedd, Abbeville, GA, Myrtle and George Huddleston, Dacula, GA, and Emmaleigh and Charlie Shaefer, Abbeville, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Taylor was born September 30, 1917 in Abbeville, GA. She was retired from Buford General Hospital and Joan Glancy Hospital after 23 years of service. She was the oldest member of Antioch Baptist Church in Abbeville, GA. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 5, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Buford, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Arrangements by: Junior E.
