Born Sept. 28, 1905, in Streeter, WV. She was the daughter of Isaac Edmond and Malinda Elizabeth Harvey Basham.
Mrs. Richardson was a homemaker, a member of Community Chapel Church, Cross Lanes, and a former member of Baptist Temple, Charleston. She was a retired employee of the Diamond Department Store. She resided for several years in Hinton, WV, where she was a member of First Baptist Church. She will be lovingly missed by two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Cantrell of Cross Lanes and Macy Lee Lilly Varian and her husband, Fred, of Fayetteville, N.C.; a son, James Edmond Richardson of Cross Lanes; a sister, Willie May Varian Smith of Charleston; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; 18 nieces and nephews; plus a host of friends and a host of many other close relatives.
Macy was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, James Camp Richardson;
six sisters, Anna Belle Williams, Mary Etta Epperly, Myrtle Melissa Fischer, Charlotte Elizabeth Woods, Monnie Beatruce Basham and Dollie Faye Hall Huffman;
and two brothers, Luther Calvin Basham and William Arthur Basham.
Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Cooke Funeral Home, 2002 20th St., Nitro, with the Rev. William Lane officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in Basham Family Cemetery, Panther's Knob, Summers County. Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert F. Cantrell Jr., William L. Cantrell, Cyril R. Lilly, James E. Richardson Jr., Joseph E. Richardson and Glen Pritchard. Pallbearers will be family members and friends. Arrangements by Cooke Funeral Home, Nitro.
