Opal White, 79, of rural Scottville died early Sunday, March 29, 1992, at her home.
She was born March 16, 1913, near Nortonville, the daughter of Henry and Ida Alexander McCann. She married Joseph White and he preceded her in death October 3, 1964.
She is survived by five daughters, Josephine Barksdale of Anchorage, Alaska, Catherine Powell of Springfield, Carol Curl of Roodhouse, Rosella Stewart of Palmyra and Donna Mitchell of Roodhouse; seven sons, James H. of Waverly, Leonard of Berlin, Joe of Roodhouse, Albert of Palmyra, Hal of Scottville, Marshall of Athensville and George Allen White of Scottville; 36 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Gladys Woolfolk of Scottville, Merle Dugger of Scottville, Minnie Stillwell of Los Angeles, Calif., Louise Chaudoin of Franklin and Cora Perry of Meredosia; one half-brother, Guy Alexander of Jacksonville.
She was preceded in death by one son, Larry and two daughters, Elizabeth White and Margaret Irene Wood.
Mrs. White was a housewife.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 31, at Stults-Neece Funeral Home in Palmyra with burial at Youngblood Cemetery in Nortonville. Memorials are suggested to the Northwestern Rescue Squad.
