Prudencio is survived by his wife of 57 years and best friend, Genevieve "Bebe", his children, Prudy Jr. and his wife, Margaret, living in Albuquerque, Paulette Durand Barkley and her husband, John, living in California, two grandchildren, Claire and Noah Barkley, a sister, Bernice Ortiz and her husband, Jack, brother-in-law, Ralph Gutiérrez and his wife, Helen and his sister-in-law, Emma Gutiérrez and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Prudy was preceded in death by his dad and mom, Richard Durand Sr. and Margaret, his brother, Richard Jr. and his friends and in-laws, Tommie and Tomasita DeBlassie, Alfred and Blandy Salas, Andy Gutiérrez John and Emma Gutiérrez and others.
Prudy and his dad, Richard owned and operated Durand Tractor on South Fourth for over fifty years. Prudy loved his work, his family and fishing. Prudy was a life long Catholic, enjoying and living his faith at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, St. Charles Catholic Church and Holy Ghost Catholic Church.
A rosary will be recited on Monday, January 31, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at French University Chapel. Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church, located at 1818 Coal Place SE, Albuquerque, NM. Internment will follow at Mount. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 1900 Edith NE, Albuquerque, NM.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice de La Luz, 3812 Academy Parkway North NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109.
