Frank Botsford, 88, of 339 S. Williamson Road Blossburg, passed away. Wednesday, June 1, 2011.

Mr. Botsford was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Mary Jane; his parents, Margaret and Frank Botsford; sister, Marian Schlappi and brother William Botsford.

Frank was born in Towanda, Pa. on November 22, 1922. He graduated from Canton High School in 1940 and served five years in the U.S. Army before and during W.W. II.

He received a B.S. degree from Mansfield State College; a M.S. degree in School Administration from Bucknell University and an advanced supervisory degree from Bucknell University and George Washington University.

Mr. Botsford is survived by sisters-in-law, Eloise Botsford, Rochester N.Y. and Audrey Myers, Blossburg; nieces, Evelyn (Tony) Adams, Rochester N.Y., Jennifer Botsford, Manassas, Va.; Margaret Evens, Manchester Center, Vt.; Sharon (Robert) Stackhouse, Troy, Pa.; nephews, Norman (Jetty) Botsford, Edmond, Okla. and John Schlappi, Ralston.

Mr. Botsford was a long time principal of Liberty High School; he was always exceptionally proud of the achievements of the students and staff of the school.

He was most pleased with the tribute in the school annual that stated simply that he was our teacher, our leader - our friend.

Funeral services will be Saturday June 4, 2011, from the Freeberg Funeral Home, Blossburg at 11:30 a.m.; officiating will be Pastor Chris Schafer; interment at Sunny Side Cemetery, Bald Eagle Twp.
