MARION B. SCHLAPPI, 86, of Canton, died Tuesday, August 19, 2003, at the Broad Acres Nursing Home in Wellsboro. Born in Masten, Pa, on July 3, 1917, the daughter of the late Frank R. and Margaret (Camp) Botsford. Marion graduated from Canton High School. Mrs. Schlappi was employed as a medical assistant for Dr. Slingerland in Canton for many years until her retirement in 1977. She was a member of the Canton Eastern Star No. 71. Surviving are a daughter and son in law, Sharon and Robert L. Stackhouse of Troy, John and Teresa Schlappi of Ralston; six grandchildren, Zackry Schlappi, Shana Bailey, Cass Pierce, Anne Hicks, Robert S. and Shauna Stackhouse; six great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Mary Botsford of Blossburg. Mrs. Schlappi was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Schlappi; and a brother, William Botsford. There will be no calling hours. A private graveside service will be held in Park Cemetery, Canton. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mrs. Schlappi's name may be directed to the Green Free Library, 14 N. Center St., Canton, PA. Arrangements are in the care of Pepper Funeral Home, Canton. –Elmira Star Gazette.
