Written July 24, 1856

1. To my beloved wife Harriet Sears all my personal and chattel property, and all money.
2. To my beloved wife Harriet Sears all my real estate in Newport, Vermillion County, IN during her lifetime.
3. After the death of my wife, the said farm shall belong to my 3 children - Robert Sears, Jacob J. Sears, and George H. Sears, share and share alike.
4. I appoint my wife Harriet Sears Executrix.
5. I desire that my children be well provided for and educated. I recommend them to the care of their mother.
