Curtis "Butch" Fawvor, 65, of Nederland, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at his home in Nederland. Born November 30, 1946, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Willie Elven "Billie" Robinson and Curtis Eull Fawvor, he was a resident of the Mid-County area since 1949. Curtis was an Eagle Scout and a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Vietnam War. He was employed with Valero for forty-three years as a supervisor and senior planner.
He is survived by his wife of forty years, Susan Fawvor; dad, Curtis Fawvor of Port Arthur; son, Michael Vriesema and his wife, Sherry of Virginia; daughters, Laurie Brack of Mauriceville, Tracy McGee of Bridge City and Malinda Dickerson and her husband, Kevin of Bridge City; grandchildren, Taylor, Tyler, Gavin. Kayla, Alexis, Riley and Rebekah; sisters, Ellen Fawvor and Sherry Koons, both of Port Arthur; and brother, Jeffery Fawvor and his wife, Susan of Shelbyville.
Curtis is preceded in death by his mother, Billie Fawvor.
A gathering of his family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 4, 2012, at Broussard's, 505 North 12th Street, with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 211 Hardy Avenue, Nederland, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
