Ira Branson Cartwright, 78, New Burlington, died Tuesday at 11:55 a.m. at Greene Memorial Hospital here. He had been seriously ill several weeks and entered the hospital a week ago. His health had been failing seven years.
Born in Pike County Aug. 17, 1874, he was the son of Job and Eliza Treadway Cartwright. Mr. Cartwright the husband of Ella Palmer Cartwright, had resided in New Burlington three years. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union, West and Branch Sts., here.
Besides his wife, survivors are for sons, Alta, at home; Harley, near Zanesville; Robert, Chicago; and Virgil, Xenia; a daughter, Mrs. Edna Davis, Xenia; two brothers Carey, Sabina, and John, ________; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by six brothers, two sisters and a son.
