George Whitley, former Duncanville High School teacher, football coach and administrator, passed away in the wee hours of the morning on May 1, 2012. He was a 30-year member of Episcopal Church of the Incarnation, where he proudly served alongside the Team #3 ushers. George's career in education covered a 45-year span in Duncanville, where he began coaching football in 1955 and retired as an administrator in 1998. The great loves of his life were his devoted wife, Doris, his beloved daughter, Tiffany, and his Texas Longhorns. He possessed a passion for history and served his country with a stint in the United States Air Force. Survivors include his wife, his daughter, and his brother, Carl and family of Houston. Funeral Service is 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Jaynes Memorial Chapel in Duncanville. Burial follows at Little Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Friday at the funeral home.
