Mrs. Cleo Ruth Whitley of 6812 Academy, Houston, died suddenly at her home February 19, 1982.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, February 22nd, at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Chapel in Honey Grove with the Rev. Edwin Gorom officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Louie Rhodes, Sam Reece, Robert Shelton Jr., Rayford Stroud, Bill Stephens and Bill Branum.

She was born in Harmon Community October 19, 1910, a daughter of S. B. Chaney and Nannie Maddon Chaney.

She was married in 1927 to Neel Whitley who passed away in 1962.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church at Honey Grove and an employee in the Fur Salon at Foley's Department Store in Houston.

She is survived by two sons, George Whitley of Duncanville and Carl Whitley of Houston; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
