The Rev. Dunn died of heart failure March 24 at his home.
He was born on August 29, 1904 in Cambridge and lived in Pasadena for 66 years.
The Rev. Dunn was a former Anne Arundel County Firefighter. He was the founder of the Powhatan Beach Volunteer Fire Department where he served as Chief for 40 years.
He was a member of Maryland Fire Chiefs Association, International Fire Chiefs Association and Maryland State Firemans Association where he was elected to the Firemans Hall of Fame. He was chaplin emertius of the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firemans Association and chaplin for the 3rd District Volunteer Firemans Association.
The Rev. Dunn also served as pastor of Ellicott City Southern Methodist Church for many years. He was a former chaplin for the International Order of Ornamental Iron Workers and a volunteer chaplin at Springfield State Hospital.
He was President of the West Baltimore chapter of the Peoples Unemployment League during the 1930's and had belonged to the Colonal of the American Rescue Workers since he was 9 years old.
The Rev. Dunn enjoyed crabbing, fishing and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia C Dunn.
Survivors include three sons, Edward M Dunn Jr. of Elkridge, Elmer E. Dunn Sr. of Pasadena, and William T. Dunn Sr. of Waynesboro, Pa.; one daughter, Doris V. Ridgeway of Pasadena; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm today and tomorrow at the funeral home. Gen. Marin will officiate the services. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Park.
