PLUMMER, JOHN, P.O. Lizton; Farmer, Sec. 31; born in this county Dec. 24, 1842; son of Joseph Plummer and Nancy Day. Married March 3, 1867, to Nancy F. Burgan, b. Sept. 10, 1849; children--William H., b. Jan. 7, 1868; Sarah F., b. Sept. 4, 1869; Richard A., b. Jan. 22, 1871; Jesse W., b. Jan. 24, 1873; Joseph, b. Dec. 26, 1874; and John H., b. Jan. 20, 1877.

Note the WPA Marriage Index for Hendricks County shows John Plummer married Mary F. Burgan on March 3, 1867. The 1870 Census shows John Plummer (age 28) living in Union Township, Hendricks County, Indiana with wife Mary (age 20) and children Henry (age 2) and Sarah (age 8 months). The 1880 Census shows John Plumer (age 38) living in Union Township with wife Mary (age 28) and children William H. (age 12), Sarah F. (age 10), Jessie W. (age 7), Joseph (age 6) and John (age 3). Mary Frances Plummer died in Union Township on Apr. 17, 1882 and John subsequently married Elvina C. Gill in Hendricks County on Sept. 12, 1882. The 1900 Census shows John (age 59) and Elvira (age 45) Plummer living in Union Township with children Joseph (age 27) and Lilian (age 16). The 1910 Census shows John and Elving Plummer living in Eel River Township with daughter Carrie L. (age 25). Indiana death records show John died on Mar. 1, 1917 in Eel River Township, Hendricks County.
