Arthur Gerald Winner, 88, of O'Mara Avenue, Midland died Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Egle Nursing and Rehab Center, Lonaconing. Born on February 14, 1924 in Midland he was the son of the late William Winner and Emma (Hemming) Winner.

He was preceded in death by six sisters, Alice Murray, Edna Keiling, Betty Lamb, Elma Winner, Trellis Fair, and Angela Carpenter and six brothers, Chalmer, George, James, Aaron, David and Robert.

He was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church, Midland and as a child he attended St. Josephs Catholic School. "Artie" retired from owning and operating the Midland Chevron Service Station. He enjoyed hunting and hunted the Dan's Rock area all his life.

He is survived by his wife Marion Esther Winner; five children William Michael Winner of Klondike, Bernard Dale Winner of Enon, OH, Julie Marie Thrasher of Westernport, Laurie Winner Meredith of Midland and Rosanne Winner Baran of Springfield, VA; fourteen grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, June Stanton of Midland and Mary Stakem of Egle Nursing Home and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Josephs Catholic Church, Midland with Father Richard Gray, celebrant. Family and friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Interment will be held at St. Josephs Catholic Cemetery, Midland. Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Midland (www.eichhornmckenzie.com) handled the arrangements.
