Services for Mrs. Mattie Peavy Terral, 85, of 704 Everett, Lufkin, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain H. Earl Calloway officiating and burial in Union Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Terral was born in Louisiana, November 27, 1889 and died Wednesday afternoon in a Lufkin hospital following a brief illness. She had lived in Polk and Angelina Counties most of her life and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors: son, Jim Peavy; daughter, Mrs. Opal Lavender; sister, Mrs. Ola Holland; brother, Grover Lafferty; 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

She is buried beside her 1st husband. Her maiden name is LAFFERTY.
