ROCKFORD, Ill. -- Services for Donald O. Eisfeller, Rockford, formerly of Chadwick, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mount Carroll. Visitation is 9:30 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Mount Carroll. Chadwick American Legion Post 739 will conduct military services at the burial. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, Rockford. Mr. Eisfeller died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2001, at his home. He retired in 1983 as CEO at Farmer's State Bank, Chadwick. He was born Aug. 29, 1919, in Chadwick. He married Shirley Beattie in 1955 in Lanark. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps. He was commissioned a lieutenant in 1944 and taught chemical warfare in Merced, Calif. He was a member of inactive reserves until 1952. Memorials may be made to the church. Survivors include his wife, Shirley; a daughter, Sharie Nelson, Winnebago; a son, James, Byron; two grandsons; and a brother, Raymond, Chadwick.
