Raymond was born January 14, 1923 on the family farm in Salem Township, the son of John and Henrietta (Appel) Eisfeller. He attended Oakville Country School, a one room school house in rural Mt. Carroll, Illinois through the eighth grade. Raymond attended Chadwick High School and graduated with the Class of 1941. Raymond mowed lawns and worked for Chadwick Manufacturing. He also farmed on the family farm for many years, he later sold the farm and purchased some apartments in Chadwick.
Raymond took pride in his town and was the go to person for Chadwick history. He was a lifetime member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chadwick. He enjoyed listening to religious radio stations. Most of all, Raymond was proud of his German Heritage and learning his family roots through genealogy.
Raymond will be dearly missed by his sister in-law, Eleanor Eisfeller of Mt. Carroll and many nieces and nephews. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers Elver, Ethan, Donald and a sister, Naomi.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 9, 2016, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chadwick, with Pastor Chris Schoon officiating. Burial will take place in the Chadwick Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday at the church.
