Reba Hays, 82, of Avilla died at 6:25 p.m. Monday, Sept. 5, 2005, at Provena Sacred Heart Home.

Mrs. Hays was a homemaker and a member of Little Flossie Old Regular Baptist Church in Lisbon.

She enjoyed NASCAR auto racing, quilting and watching University of Kentucky basketball games.

Mrs. Hays was born May 19, 1923, in Garrett, Ky., to Simon and Alice (Moore) Hunter. On Oct. 12, 1943, in Hindman, Ky., she married Edd Hays. He is deceased.

Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Elsie and Dave Kugler of Avilla, Shirley and Carl Myers of Crystal River, Fla., and Sue Laney of Fremont; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Earl Hays of Avilla, Chester and Karen Hays of Auburn and Tim and Donna Hays of Talcum, Ky.; three sisters, Edna Wicker and Ruby Wicker, both of Kendallville, and Dorothy Wicker of Lima, Ohio; two brothers, Delbert Hunter of Auburn and Paul Hunter of Prestonburg, Ky.; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ronnie Hays; a daughter-in-law, Gwendolyn Hays; a grandson, Dennis Meyers; a brother, Chester Hunter; and two sisters, Shirley Smith and Audrey Tripplett.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Little Flossie Old Regular Baptist Church in Lisbon with Pastor Morris Wicker of the church officiating. Burial will be in Orange Township Cemetery near Brimfield.

Calling will be after 1 p.m. today at the church.

Memorials are to Little Flossie Old Regular Baptist Church.

Brazzell Funeral Home, Avilla Chapel, was in charge of arrangements.
