Born March 6, 1904, in Ft. Madison, he was the son of William and Elizabeth (Brachlacht) Hoenig. He married Elsie L. Senf on May 15, 1930, in Ft. Madison.

He was a retired farmer and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife; one son, Raymond Hoenig, Ft. Madison; three daughters, Mrs. Ruth (Wayne) Lowder, Davenport, Mrs. Dorothy (Larry) Taeger, West Burlington, and Mrs. Mary (Tim) Driscoll, Marengo; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after noon Friday with the rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. at the King-Lynk Funeral Home, Ft. Madison.

The service for Mr. Hoenig will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert Amborn and the Rev. George Hoenig officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
