Ruth Joan Hoenig was born February 21, 1931 in Fort Madison, Iowa, a daughter of Joseph and Elsie (Senf) Hoenig. She married Wayne Lowder July 7, 1956 in Fort Madison. They celebrated 36 years of marriage prior to his preceding her in death July 24, 1992.
Ruth loved doing volunteer work, singing in the choir, working in the yard with her flowers and vegetables and spending time with her family. She was an avid reader.
Those left to honor Ruth's memory include her children: Thomas Lowder, Blue Grass; Ann Weeks, Davenport; David Lowder, Powder Springs, Georgia; William (Sandy) Lowder, Durant; Karen (Gene) Adolphi, Chattanooga, Tennessee; and Steven (Cindy) Lowder, Davenport; four grandchildren: Kaitlyn (Crockett) Wessels; Theren Adolphi; Trey (Libbie) Adolphi and Selena Adolphi; five great-grandchildren (and one on the way): Scarlett, Noah, Hugo, Braxton and Rowdy; siblings: Dorothy Taeger, and Raymond Hoenig, both of Ft. Madison; and Mary (Tim) Driscoll, Williamsburg, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wayne and grandson, Tristan Adolphi.
