They spent their early years on the farm and in 1922 moved to Onaga where they lived until 1963. They then went to live at the home of their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Logan in Merriam.
On November 21, Mrs. Zabel had the misfortune to fall and break her leg and was hospitalized until she was brought to Golden Acres December 31, where she passed away January 25.
She was a member of the Congregational Church and was an active member for many years in the Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the Royal Neighbor Lodge and the Art Needlework Club.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, three children seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Fred Schwant of Winner, S. D., and one sister, Mrs. Clara Wahl of Golden Acres Home.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., January 27 at the Congregational Church with burial in the Onaga Cemetery.
