GLADYS HENINGTON

Gladys R. Henington, 95, of Greenville passed away Thursday, July 31, 2003 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at North Baptist Church under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Rev. Ben Smith and Dr. Leslie Mills officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Mrs. Henington was born on April 25, 1908, in Wolfe City to Cyrus Ritchie Robnett and Martha Alice Hannah Robnett. She graduated from Wolfe City High School in 1926 and attended Kidd Key College in Sherman.

She married Alvin D. Mankin in September 1930, and he preceded her in death in 1941. She married Luther C. Henington on July 18, 1948, and he preceded her in death in 1979.

Mrs. Henington was a homemaker and enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, crocheting and visiting with her friends and family.

She was a member of the North Baptist Church where she attended Sunday School and services regularly until her health failed.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty and husband James Roddy of Greenville, Drucilla and husband Nathan East of Portland; four grandsons, Neil and wife Elaine Roddy; Jimmy and wife Jo Roddy, Jeremy East, Jed East; two granddaughters, Jennifer and husband Nick Busam, Julie East; two great-grandson, Brent Roddy and Eric Roddy;
three great-granddaughters, Leslie Roddy, Stacy Roddy and Casey Roddy.
She was preceded in death by parents and brothers, Zeph, Tom and Dwight Robnett.
Pallbearers are Travis McGuire, Grady Jones, Charles Fugitt, J. W. Reeves and V. R. Webb.
Memorials can be made to the Building Fund of North Baptist Church.
