"Rutherford Glenn Allen, son of Mr. and Mrs. R.C. Allen, passed away at 1:45 a.m. Saturday January 28, 1928, at his home southwest of Stafford at the age of 13 years, 2 months and 9 days. He has been in poor health for the past two years, having suffered with sugar diabetes. "He was born at the present home of his parents Nov. 19, 1914. All his life has been spent in that community and his school life at Taylorville, excepting one term attended in the Stafford school, of which he was a member of the eighth grade. "During his illness he was patient and complained little. It was thought by most that his health was improivng (sic). and was in school on Wednesday before he became seriously ill on Friday. "Glenn was the youngest child of the family. He was preceded in death by his brother Herman. He is survived by his father and mother, four sisters: Mrs. Della Curtis of Seattle, Wash., Sylvia, Golda (,) Velma at home, and two brothers: Charles of Oakland (,) California, and Clarence at home. Also several other relatives and a host of friends. "Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Rhoda Sunday afternoon at Leesburg church and interment was made in the Leesburg cemetery. "The pallbears were: Owen Hawver, Earle Hawver, Roy Beagley, Virgil Leatherman and Edward Titus and Merle Leatherman. "The flower girls were: Alta Dykes, Eva Leatherman, Mildren Cline, Vivian Cline, Lois Leatherman and Thada Boughner.
