Roscoe Lynn Chesterman was the only son of Mary Washington Bolton and Roscoe Dabney Chesterman, all of Richmond, Virginia. Lynn owned and operated several livery stables before he got his degree in veterinary surgery. He amassed a large tract of farmland in Goochland County that exceeded 350 acres. In his will, he left all of his property to the S.P.C.A. for the care of his horse and dog. The S.P.C.A. ethanized the animals and sold the property to the Richmond Country Club. He does not have a grave marker.
