Willie M. Hand, 98, a longtime resident of the Wenatchee Valley , died Monday, January 6, 1997 at the Highline Convalescent Center in East Wenatchee.
She was born Dec. 1, 1898 in Franklin, Arkansas to Vince and Mary (Andrews) Williams.
On May 6, 1917, she married Vernon H. Hand at Pleasant Ridge, Ark. They lived at Franklin, Ark. until 1943, when they moved to Wenatchee. The family then lived in Manson for the next 19 years and returned to Wenatchee in 1965.
Mrs. Hand was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Wenatchee.
Survivors include her four sons: Vince V.Hand of Mountain Home, Ark., William L.'Fate" and Scott R.Hand of North Bend, and Franklin D. "Max" Hand of Oroville; her five daughters, Elsie Knatcal of Snohomish, Margie Helm of Jefferson, Iowa, Dorothy Peters of Rock Island, Mary Sue Senseney of Stemilt Hill (Wenatchee) and Lola Jean Heinrich of Billings, Mont.; her 33 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon, in 1988, by her 5 brothers, by her 3 sisters , by a daughter, and by 2 granddaughters.
Arrangments are by Jones and Jones Funeral Directors of Weatchee.
