Victor H, Rohr, the son of Christian Rohr and Mary (Niederklein) Rohr, was born on a farm near Tobias on Sept. 11, 1920. He was the seventh of eight children in the family. He died on Dec. 14, at Bryan Memorial Hospital in Lincoln at the age of 72.

On Sept. 26,1920, he was baptized in the Christian faith by the Rev. E.O. Potratz at Zion Lutheran Church at Tobias. He attended Zion Parochial School through the eighth grade and was confirmed by the Rev. William Nau on April 14, 1935. He attended Tobias Public School, graduating with the class
of 1939.

Following his graduation he worked in Iowa and California. On Sept, 29, 1944 he enlisted in the Navy and served in the south Pacific-during WWII. He was discharged on May 20,1946.

In 1946 he returned to the family farm. On June ,5,1949, he was united in marriage to Marie Ficken, a teacher at
St. Peter school, from Davenport, Nebr. Three daughters, Diane, Barbara and Debra, and a son, Mark, were born to this
marriage.

He was a life-long member of Zion and held various offices in the church and school. He was also a member of the
Tobias Legion Post #311 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He lived most of his life on the family farm which he enjoyed and he was still active on the farm. He cherished the visits from his children and the special times in his life were spent with his 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Henry and Herman; sisters, Matilda Endorf and Selma Spilker; a niece, Judy Ann Kugel and a nephew, Lawrence Rohr.

He is survived by his wife Marie; son Mark and his wife Melissa of Tobias; three daughters, Diane and her husband
Richard Sutton of Blue Springs, Barbara and her husband David Henning of Beatrice and Debra and her husband
Bob VanWesten of Alexandria; 10 grandchildren, Ryan and Jamie Young, Heather and Blake Henning, Angie, Marissa, Katie and Reid VanWesten, Andrew and Kyle Rohr; sisters, Esther Bartels of Western, Laura Endorf of Fairbury and Nadine Kugel of Fairbury; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services were held Dec. 17, at Zion Lutheran Church at Tobias with Pastor Reiners officiating. Richard Hartmann
accompanied the church choir.

Pallbearers were Rolland Endorf, Willard L. Endorf, Leroy Rohr, Gene Hicks, Kent Ficken and Rod Henkel.

The United States flag was presented to the family by the Tobias American Legion Post #311. Interment was in Zion
Cemetery with Farmer & Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
