Stephen "Ace" Bowie -Easley

Mr. Stephen "Ace" Anthony Bowie, 64, of 400 Four Lakes Dr., husband of Jean DeVore Bowie, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at McCall Hospice House.

Born June 11, 1947 in Greensboro, NC, Ace was a son of the late Paul Edward and Earline Davis Bowie. He graduated from Clemson University, and he was a Manufacturers Representative in tool and die for JDB, Inc. for 18 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church. As of April 18th, Ace is singing with the heavenly choir in the tenor section. Ace cherished his family, friends, Clemson Football, beach music, and most of all Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior.

In addition to his wife of forty-four years, he is survived by his son, Dr. Anthony Bowie (Susan), daughter, Stephanie King (Todd) all of Greenville; brothers, Pat Bowie of LaGrange, GA, Greg Bowie of Spartanburg and Don Bowie, of Woodruff; and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Paul E. Bowie III.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 21, 2012 at First Baptist Church, Easley with the Reverend Dr. John Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be the members of his band, The Pieces of Eight.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:45 PM Saturday prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the McCall Hospice House, 1836 W. Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680.

The family is at the home.
