Ada was the daughter of James Monroe and Mary Elizabeth Watts Oyler. She married William Winona Poor. They were the parents of nine children, Floy Merle Wood, Marie Pearl Pearson, Wreatha Violet Natterman, Glenn G. Poor Sr., Gordon Kelsey Poor, Paul Eldon Poor Sr., Mary Elizabeth Jones, Dorothy Mae Achenbach, and William Levoy Poor.
