DEATH ANNOUNCEMENT
“Chas. E. Bliss, son of Marcus W. Bliss, died at the home of his parents, in Poultney, Wednesday, Aug. 16, 1876. Mr. Bliss was born in Castleton, VT, Nov. 21, 1849, and was therefore nearly 27 years of age.
“His parents moved into this town seventeen years ago, where they have resided since. Mr. Bliss married Mary J., daughter of John O’Donald, esq., of Hampton, N. Y., Dec. 28, 1870, and lived on his father’s place since. For nearly three years he has been out of health, although he appeared this summer and last spring better than usual.
“Mr. Bliss was a highly respectable young man, had an unsullied reputation for honesty and uprightness and was well thought of by all who knew him. While he was not a member of any church, his life had been such that we are informed by his attendants he faced death with unusual calmness, and was to all appearances anxious and prepared to go, bidding each an affectionate last good bye, only a few minutes before breathing his last. He leaves a wife and many near relatives and intimate friends to mourn his loss.
“His funeral will be attended from the home of his parents, this Friday, at 11 o’clock, A. M.”
