DEATH ANNOUNCEMENT
“The death of Mrs. Marcus W. Bliss which occurred on Tuesday, had been daily expected for some time, therefore the people were not surprised when the sad news was received. Lucinda Barber was married to Marcus W. Bliss, February 14, 1838, and was now in the 74th year of her age. They have had four children, Cyrus M, who died in August 1863, Sarah, wife of A. Herrick of this village, Betsey B., wife of John B. Meeker of Mechanicsville, N.Y., and Charles E., who died several years ago. The funeral of Mrs. Bliss takes place (today) Thursday, at one o’clock, the Rev. C. Granger pastor of the Congregational church officiating, of which denomination Mrs. Bliss has been a member for many years.”
