Elizabeth (Betty) A. Murphy

Betty was born on September 22, 1916 in San Mateo, CA to Timothy and Mary Ita Murphy. She attended Peninsula Avenue School and Mount Carmel in Redwood City, and graduated from Notre Dame in Belmont.

Betty was employed by United Airlines for 35 years before her retirement. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Sr. Kathleen Murphy, SND, Mary Brady and brother William T. Murphy. Betty is survived by her brother John J. Murphy of San Carlos and her sister Eileen Giannini of Half Moon Bay, CA. and numerous nieces and nephews who all loved her.

She was a lifelong member of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Burlingame, a member of the Legion of Mary and the Nocturnal Adoration Society.

Rosary service will be held at 7:00 PM, April 25, 2012 at the Crosby-N. Gray & Co. #2 Park Rd., in Burlingame, CA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, April 26 at the St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1310 Bayswater Avenue in Burlingame followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma, CA. Donations preferred to the Franciscan Fraternal Care Trust or the charity of your choice.
