Inf.∼Joseph Biesecker, 632 1/2 North Fifth street, died in his home, Sunday night, at 11:05 o'clock, following an illness of several months.
Mr. Biesecker was born February 18, 1846, in Tippecanoe county, Indiana. He served as a Private in Company H, 40th Indiana Infantry, during the Civil war. For many years, he was farm boss at the Illinois Soldiers' and Sailors' Home, until he retired fifteen years ago.
He was a member of the Methodist church. His wife, Mrs. Celia L. Biesecker, died June 10, 1928.

Funeral services for Joseph Biesecker were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Duker funeral chapel, in charge of the Reverend L. C. Mauck. Burial was in Sunset cemetery, at the Illinois Soldiers' and Sailors' Home.
Steve Davenport had charge of the * firing squad, composed of Anton Sholtes, Willard Frey, Harry Phillips, and William Boyer, with Edward Nelson as color bearer, James Carey and James Bullard as color guards, and Allen Miller as bugler.
