Funeral will be Monday for Arretta Blackburn, Hermitage, formerly of West Middlesex and Sharpsville. She died at 11:03 p.m. Thursday (11-9-00) in John XXIII Home, Hermitage, after an extended illness. She was 83.
Mrs. Blackburn was born Jan. 25, 1917, in Braceville, Ohio, to Lynn and Martha A. Woods Pearson.
She attended West Middlesex area schools.
A homemaker, Mrs. Blackburn was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Sharpsville.
She enjoyed crafts and crocheting. was an avid reader and was a member of Degree of Honor Insurance Company.
Her husband, Talmadge Ross Blackburn, whom she married Dec. 28, 1935, died March 28, 1990.
Surviving are: three daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Bonita) Cousins, Sharpsville; Mrs. Rodney (Beverly) Heeter, Sligo; and Arda Morton, West Middlesex; four sons, Talmadge C., Melbro, Va.; Eldred L., Lisbon, Ohio; Ronald P., West Middlesex; and Lynn R., Boardman, Ohio; a sister, Mrs. William (Arda) White, Covina, Calif.; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Joy Ruby; a son, Arley; and two brothers, Ray L. and C. Dane Pearson.
