Mr. Blackburn was born February 18, 1937, in West Middlesex, a son of the late Talmadge R. and Aretta (Pearson) Blackburn. He attended West Middlesex High School and served in the US Army Reserves for six years.
Before retiring in 2017, Lynn worked for 19 years at Tam O’Shanter Golf Course, Hermitage.
Lenny was a member of the Presbyterian Church of West Middlesex. He was also a Free and Accepted Mason, Kedron Lodge #389, and a member VFW Post #6233, both in West Middlesex.
Lenny was an avid outdoorsman who spent countless hours camping, boating, fishing and snowmobiling with his wife Joan and many family members and friends. In his later years, Lenny enjoyed duck and goose hunting and time spent at deer camp.
His wife, the former Kathryn Joan Scott, whom he married November 24, 1956, passed away November 23, 2011.
He is survived by two sisters, Bonita “Bonnie” Cousins, of Sharpsville, and Beverly Heeter, of Marco Island, FL; two brothers, Talmadge Blackburn, of Louisiana, and Eldred Backburn and his wife Carol, of Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Lynn was preceded in death by his siblings, Arlie Blackburn, Joy Ruby, Ronald Blackburn and Arda Morton.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. David D’Amore and the staff at Clepper Manor for their loving care of the family’s brother and uncle in his final months.
The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Amaranth Diabetes Foundation, payable to Grand Court of PA and mailed to Kim Webster, PO Box 423, West Middlesex, PA 16159.
A graveside service will be 11 am, Friday, October 2, 2020, in Haywood Cemetery, with Rev. James Hickman, officiating.
