William "Keith" Tannehill, age 81, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, at his home with his family by his side. Mr. Tannehill was born June 8, 1930, in Lincoln, to William and Emma (Storm) Tannehill. He was a Korean War Navy veteran and is a lifetime member of the VFW.

He had worked as an A.I. Technician for Kansas State University for over 22 years, retiring in 1988. He then worked as administrator for the Moose Lodge in Salina until 1992.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce; one son, Gary Keith Tannehill, of Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Linda Kay Tannehill, of Kenai, Alaska; stepchildren, Mary Prescher, of Salina, Judy Heidel, Eve McDaniel and Richard McDaniel, all of Wyoming; one sister, Shirley Paulson, of Greeley, Colo.; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Ramsey; and a grandson, Brandon Heidel.

Keith was a fun-loving, amazing man who loved his wife and children dearly.

He enjoyed being with his family, fishing and telling jokes. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Cremation has been selected. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Assaria Lutheran Church, Assaria, with Pastor Brian Bauer officiating. Military Honors will be provided by VFW Post 1432, Salina.
