Estelle was born March 2, 1915, in Antonie, Arkansas to Walter and Hattie Craig. She was a resident of Texas City for over forty years, formerly of Abilene, Texas. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
Estelle was preceded in death by her parents, husband James Edward Curd and son Norris Kenneth Hooks. Survivors include daughter Patsy Frye of Texas City; sons Wayne Hooks, Dale Paul Hooks and Michael K Curd all of Texas City; sisters Myrt Blocker of Boerne, Texas and Jeannie Rogers of Odessa, Texas; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ardy Blakley, John Quinn, Dick Cronkwright, Marvin McWilliams, Don Duke, Troy Uzzell, Joshua Frye, Jacob Frye, Michael Baucom and Charlie Blocker.
Memorials may be made for the Family room at the Sea Breeze Nursing Home, 6602 Memorial Drive, Texas City, TX 77591.
