He was born June 29, 1918, in Westernport, Md., and came to Sarasota 33 years ago from Ohio. He was a retired Army major and a member of the Retired Officers Association. A Mason, he was a member of the American Legion and Elks Post 1519. He was a Protestant.
Survivors include his wife, Elanda; three daughters; three sisters; and a brother.
Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va. Robarts Funeral Home, Bee Ridge Road, is in charge.
