Hassel C. Koontz, 64, died this morning at his home, 1116 S. Fairview St.
A native of Brooklyn, Ind., Mr. Koontz was born May 13, 1902, the son of Ora and Vina Foddrill Koontz.
Mr. Koontz was truck driver for the Monon Railroad. He attended the Fairview Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Breta McGlothlin Koontz; one son, Robert Dale at home; one granddaughter, Mrs. Thomas R. (Linda) Stickler, 1112 S. Fairview; one great-granddaughter, Tracy Renee Stickler, his stepmother, Mrs. Ada Koontz, 212 S. Rogers; one brother, Clayton, Harrodsburg; one half brother, Joseph Koontz, Thorntown; two half sisters, Mrs. Genevieve Eads, 212 S. Rogers and Mrs. Marie Miller, Harrodsburg and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Day Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Grester R. Kemp officiating.
Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
