Born on October 17, 1926 in Salem, Iowa, she was the daughter of Jess Earl and Mary Virginia Hudson Bouge. She married Keith Brown in Salem, Iowa; they later divorced. She married Paul Aspengren in Burlington, Iowa in 1962. He died on October 9, 2005.
Alyce was owner/operator of Casey's World Antiques. She enjoyed buying, selling and talking about antiques. She enjoyed the bargains and bartering for profit. Many of the items that she collected and sold were used in her lifetime or her family's. She loved her family, especially spending time her grandchildren; she was also an animal lover. Alyce grew up with active brothers, so she learned to hunt and enjoy the outdoors. Late in life she was determined to teach her twins how to shoot a long barrel .22 rifle by shooting targets. Alyce could hit the bulls-eye while the twins needed more practice. She was of the Roman Catholic faith.
She is survived by two sons, Michael G. (Cathy) Brown of Burlington, Iowa and Dennis (Donna) Brown of Vancouver, Washington; three daughters, Kathy (Michael) Glasgow of Marcellus, Michigan; twins, Christine (David) Foster of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa and Connie Turner of Elko, Nevada; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Bouge of Council Bluffs, Iowa; one sister, Violet Wilson of Moline, Illinois; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Keith Gregory Brown; her husband, one infant sister, two sisters and five brothers.
