This is one of my maternal great-grandmothers. She married Jan (John)Wisniewski(which was "Americanized" to Wisneski. They married on November 11, 1907 at Sacred Heart Church in South Scranton, Pennsylvania. In American, she also "Americanized" her name and went by the name Mary.

My great-grandmother gave birth to 13 children. They are: 2 boys who were named Stanley and who died in infancy, Stella Wisneski-Rychick-Miller (b. Jan. 1910 - deceased), Anthony Wisneski (b. Aug. 1911 - deceased), Lydia Wisneski-Tomczyk (b. Sept. 1913), Bertha Wisneski-Kasztejna (b. Aug. 1915, d. July 4, 1998), Edna Wisneski-Grzyb (b. Nov. 13, 1919), Edward Wisneski (b. May 1921 - deceased), John Wisneski (b. May 1923 - deceased), Mary Wisneski-Zukauskas (b. Nov. 1924), Wanda Wisneski-Dumonski (b. Mar. 1929 - deceased), and Henry Wisneski (b. Oct. 1932).

The wedding picture to the right is the only picture that we have of my great-grandmother. My Babci (grandmother in Polish), Edna Wisneski-Grzyb, says that she never remembers her mother smiling...

My great-grandmother died at the age of 48.
