Lydia P. Wisneski Tomczyk, 97 Formerly of Upper Darby, PA Lydia P. Wisneski Tomczyk, 97,died September 19, 2011 at St. Francis Country House in Darby, PA. Mrs. Tomczyk was a resident of Upper Darby, PA for over 50 years. She was born and raised in Scranton, PA. She retired from Merk and Co. in 1978 after 15 years as a group leader. Mrs. Tomczyk was a longtime member of St. Cyril Catholic Church where she active in the Legion of Mary and both the Altar and Rosary Societies. She was also formerly involved with Ladies of Charity of Philadelphia, Catholic Daughters Court Regina Pacis and Alliance of Catholic Women. She was known as the "Rosary Lady" who made tens of thousands of rosaries and donated them to missionaries around the world. She had a great devotion to the Virgin Mary. She is predeceased by her husband the late Jacob H. Tomczyk who died in 1991 after 58 years of marriage. Survivors: Son Paul J. Tomczyk; daughter Ann M. Sudall; brother, Henry Wisneski; sisters Mary Zukaukus and Edna Gryzb; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation after 9 AM Thursday in the Chapel of St. Francis Country House, 1412 Lansdowne Ave., Darby, PA 19023. Funeral Mass 10:45 AM. Burial Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery.
