In Memory of Mrs. Mattie Williams.
On Thursday night, February 24th, the death angel visited the home of Mr. Paul Williams and bore away the sweet spirit of his loving wife. Mrs. Williams was, before her marriage, Miss Mattie Knight. She was born January 2, 1882.
Her death is a shock to her people and friends, as she had been sick only a few days.
The funeral services were held on Saturday at 11 o'clock at Pleasant Grove Church and were conducted by Rev. G. D. Hunt.
She was a good neighbor, a consecrated Christian lady, a dutiful daughter, a favorite sister and a devoted and loving wife and mother. She was a friend to all who knew her and will be greatly missed in her community, church, family and home.
She leaves to mourn her death a husband and four children - Vencie, Stanford, Tinnie Mae and Mary Joe - also her father and mother, three sisters and two brothers, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
Though her life here is ended she has gained one eternal in Heaven. May her loved ones follow the path that she has trod and meet her in that happy home on high.
