It is our sad duty to chronicle the passing from the world one of the pioneers of the county, Mr. J. W. Addison. Mr. Addison had been ill for a long time and while his death was not unexpected it was nevertheless a sad blow to the citizens of the town.

He came to Osborne county in 1872 and in the early days conducted a shoe repair shop. He homesteaded soon after coming to the county.

He served in the Civil war and was a member of O. M. Mitchell Post.

He is survived by the wife and three children: Mrs. S. J. Hibbs of Alton. Fred Addison of Downs and Art Addison of California. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Loomis of the Methodist church from the home Saturday and interment made in the Osborne cemetery.
