R. R. LAWTHER DIES AT HOME

Raymond R. Lawther, 74, for many years a representative of the Southwestern Title Insurance Company in Dallas, died Friday at his home, 1810 Prairie.

Lawther was born in Brenham, but moved to Dallas as a child with his parents, the late Col. and Mrs. R. R. Lawther, early Dallas settlers who moved to Texas shortly after the Civil War from Iowa.

Lawther served with the YMCA during World War I in France. He had been an employee of the Southwestern Life Insurance Company for more than thirty years before going into semiretirement a few years ago. He was a long-time member of the Church of the Incarnation and had held several church offices there. He was a Mason and a Shriner.

Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Mrs. T. P. Axelson of Germany and Mrs. Carney Dowlen of Houston; and a brother, Paul Lawther of Dallas.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Church of the Incarnation, 3966 McKinney, with the Rev. Donald M. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Restland Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Robert A. Bowles, Harry Lockett, Irion Worsham, M. L. Canfield, Robert N. Watkin, and Mitchell Langdon.
