WATERVILLE - Doris L. Giroux, 92, of Waterville, passed away at a local nursing home on Jan. 19, 2010. Born February 24, 1917, in Fort Kent, she was the daughter of John and Emelia (Dubois) Bard.
Doris was predeceased by her husband, Fernando Giroux, sister Jeanne Chadwick, and a granddaughter, Erica Scogin.

She is survived by her son, Ronald Giroux and wife Ellen of Pennsylvania and Florida; two daughters, Jean Ann Dolowitz and Mack of Montreal, Quebec, Linda Scogin and husband Travis of Somersworth, N.H.; two sisters, Ora Grande of Rhode Island, and Eva Macaro of Connecticut; six grandchildren, Suzanne Porter, David Giroux, Deborah VanWickler, Libby Hartlaub, Amy Beaber, and Aaron Scogin, as well as nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm St., Waterville. A Mass will be held Friday, Jan. 22, at 11 a.m. at Saint Francis De Sales Church, 50 Elm St., Waterville.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Doris' memory to Blessed Sacrament Church, Silver Street, Waterville, Maine. Interment will be in the spring. (Morning Sentinel 1/21/2012)
